Internet Safety

The Bank of Edison is committed to the safety of our customers’ financial information.  To ensure that each of our customers has a safe, worry-free Internet Banking experience, we’ve compiled a list of basic Do’s and Don’ts that should be followed at all times

Do’s

  • Always keep your User ID and Password confidential and secure.
  • Make sure to choose your password carefully, using a combination of letters, numbers and special characters (i.e. - !, #, $, etc.).
  • Change your password frequently.
  • Avoid using public computers to access Internet Banking (such as public library PC’s), as it could result in other users obtaining access to your information.
  • Keep your computer protected with anti-virus and anti-malware software, and make sure that they are updated regularly.
  • Make sure that your computer’s Operating System (i.e. Windows) is updated with the latest security updates.
  • When you finish using The Bank of Edison’s Online Banking, make sure to click on the “Logout” button.  For additional safety, close out your Web Browser entirely.
  • If you suspect that your account has been compromised, notify The Bank of Edison immediately.
  • Always check your statements for unauthorized activity.

Don’ts

  • Never click on a link in an email claiming to be from the Bank of Edison, even if it has our logo in it.  We do not use email for marketing purposes.  If you receive an email that appears to have been sent by the Bank of Edison, asking you to click on a link, disregard it and notify us immediately.
  • Never provide personal information in response to an email.
  • Do not open, run, install or use programs or files sent to you by a person or company you do not know, or are not familiar with.
  • Do not open email attachments from unknown sources. If you receive suspicious email, make sure you delete it and empty your deleted email folder immediately.
  • Never give your User ID and Password, or your Debit Card PIN number to anyone, for any reason.
